i. Private associations Certain
Note Synodoi has a quite wide range of meanings, starting from a simple gathering to a private association in inscriptions. In this passage they go hand in hand with hetaireiai, something that strongly suggests that they are meant as private associations (see also CAPInv. GR-32).
ii. Historical authenticity There is no reason to doubt the genuiness of the treatise.
