iii. Income Publius Aelius Neikostratos has erected a grave monument for himself and his family; if someone sells it or uses it for other purposes, the “carriers at the jug” are to receive a fine of 250 Denarii.

i. Comments The phortegoi appear to be organized as a professional association; the involvement of such groups in the care and protection of graves is well attested. Publius Aelius Neikostratos may have been a member, but this is not certain.
