Comments |
The honorand Ariston, son of Ariston (Ariston I, to be distinguished from his homonymous son) is known as a very active member of the Bacchic thiasos (see CAPInv. 1186). He is called euergetes tou damou in I. Kallatis 40, as in some of the decrees of the thiasos. The fragmentary decree I. Kallatis 41 for the same Ariston I has οἱ θοινᾶται τᾶς [ - - ], hoi thoinatai tas [ - - ]. It is highly probable that the thoinatai are those of Damater Chthonia.
