Theophoric:Ἀπόλλωνος Στραταγίου, Apollonos Stratagiou - From the god Ἀπολλων, Apollon (Morrelli, I culti in Rodi [Pisa, 1959], 21-28, 102-110). This is the sole recorded attestation of the epithet Στρατάγιος, Stratagios attritbuted to Apollon.
Note The character of the association is greatly reminiscent of other associations described as κοινὸν, koinon, although it is impossible to verify the descriptive term due to erosion.

XII. NOTES

i. Comments The final line of the inscription has been damaged to a point where the descriptive term of the association is gone. Some scholars have restored the lacuna as eranistai ( cf. Wescher, van Gelder). Others have restored it as koinon, which would be consistent with the rest of the inscription (Foucart, Hiller).
The name of the association has also been a point of contention. The interpretations mostly see Apollon Stratagios as a cult, yet another interpretation has seen it as a personal name. Either interpretation would be the first of its kind on Rhodes or elsewhere (Morelli, Carratelli, List of Greek Personal Names).
