The genitive absolute προστατοῦντος Ἡρακλίτ[ου], prostatountos Heraklit[ou] (ll. 6-7) indicates in this context that Heraklitos was the president, not the patron of the association.
Eponymous office Maybe the genitive absolute indicates an eponymous usage of the office.

i. Comments It is not possible to determine the activities of the operarii, the word has a general acception. Dagron and Feissel (IdC 46) refer to the Edict. Dioclet. 7,1, De mercedibus oper[arior]um (ed. Lauffer, p. 118-9), where after an operario rustico 75 craftsmen of all kinds are mentioned.
