Note | In Roman Asia Minor the term synedrion is often used in connection to professional associations (Poland 1909: 156-7). In this case the harbor-workers are organized in a synedrion. The durability of the group is inferred by the fact that they are the recipients of fines in case of the violation of tombs. |
