A fine was incurred in case of violation of a private funerary monument; in particular, 2500 denarii were to be paid to the association and an equal amount ([τ]ὸ ἴσον, [t]o ison, lL. 6-7) was also payable to the city.

Note |
In Roman Asia Minor the term synedrion is often used in connection to professional associations (Poland 1909: 156-7). In this case the sakkophoroi are organized in a synedrion. The durability of the group is inferred by the fact that they are the recipients of fines in case of the violation of tombs.
