i. Local interaction The topos was built under the direction of Hierax, a πλεσώνης, plesones (l. 3-4), a term that typically identified the priest responsible for the administration of the temple.

XIII. EVALUATION

i. Private association Possible
Note The lack of a descriptive term may be problematic, but then again, the inscription was likely meant largely for the weavers who dedicated it and passing reference would perhaps have been enough for non-members. The connection to the administration of the temple, however, is a little problematic: was this possibly compulsory? Was the group of weavers here really a formal private association? The evidence remains unclear, and in that light it is perhaps best to note that it is entirely possible that this group was a private association.
