Note |
Inscription found at Mazara del Vallo (first edition Ribezzo 1933, corrected by Segre 1934, full discussion Manni Piraino 1969, republished Brugnone 2003, whence SEG 58: 1047), but the text references Lilybaeum, and many inscriptions from Lilybaeum seem to have been transported to Mazara del Vallo in later times; the text may therefore originally come from Lilybaeum. Consequently, the reference to πατρίδα (patrida) is ambiguous.

Local interaction |
Honours, including a crown (image engraved on the stone) at the expense of the koinon (ἐκ τῶν | ἰδίων, ek ton idion, ll. 6-7) for Marcus Iunius Felix, bouleutes of Lilybaeum and patron of the koinon, in recognition of his zeal for his hometown (φιλοτειμη|σάμενον περὶ τὴν || πατρίδα, philoteimesamenon peri ten patrida, ll. 3-5). The inscription ends with the letters ΔΔΒ, DDB in Greek, which may signify δόγματι δεκουριώνων βουλῆς, dogmati dekourionon boules, and so indicate that the honours from the koinon were also approved by the decuriones of Lilybaeum; but dono dedit benemerentissimo has also been suggested (see Bisi 1969, SEG 58: 1047).

Note |
No further information available, and even the nominative form of the genitive κινακων, kinakon is uncertain, but the nature of the text and its references to the Lilybaeum boule strongly implies a private association of some sort.
