XII. NOTES

iii. Bibliography See comms by ed. P.Oxy. XLIV 3164.

Koenen, L. (1967) "Eine Einladung zur Kline des Sarapis (P.Colon. inv. 2555)." ZPE 1: 121-26.

Youtie, H. C. (1948) "The Kline of Sarapis". HThR 41.1: 9-29

XIII. EVALUATION

i. Private association Possible
Note This text is problematic. The use of kline suggests that Serapis is involved here, and that Sois was attached to the cult as a priest. If this was a temple cult, could it have been a privately organised association? Possibly, but it seems best to err on the side of caution.
