Status |
aposkeue means 'all persons dependant on the soldiers stationed in a place, both families and servants' (SEG 54: 1531). This implies that the association consisted of Ptolemaic military settlers, their family members and the descendants of them. For Ptolemaic military settlements in the Mesaoria, see Hermary 2004: 54-5.
