Deities worshipped The group most probably worshipped Ἡρακλῆς, Herakles. For the cult of Herakles at Megara see Smith 2008: 123.

XI. INTERACTION

i. Local interaction The fact that the two donors were members of the Πανελλήνιον, Panhelle[nion], (l. 1), a body instituted by Hadrian suggests that they were most likely members of the local elite.

i. Comments The inscription was listed among the athletic associations by Poland (see below) probably on the basis of the commentary by Le Bas and Waddington, who regarded as a ‘compagnie d' atheletes en passage’.
