XI. INTERACTION

ii. Interaction abroad The technitai of Ionia and the Hellespont were the recipients of prayers along with the demos of Elaians and the Romans in a decree passed by the city of Elaia after its allegiance with Rome. According to Le Guen (1997) the technitai, who were based in Pergamon, were invited to Elaia to participate in the festivals (ll. 48-61).

Note Although this text reveals nothing about the organization of the group, the Dionysiac technitai (in this case the branch based in Ionia and the Hellespont) were a formally organized association as it is clearly demonstrated in other inscriptions.
