VII. ORGANIZATION

ii. Leadership The leader of the group is defined as ἀ̣[ρ]χιπρ[ο]στατῶν, archiprostaton (l. 3). His name is Sosandros, Aitolos: he was a military man, ilarches and hipparches.
Eponymous office ἀ̣[ρ]χιπρ[ο]στατοῦντος | Σωσά̣ν̣δρου Α[ἰ]τ̣ωλοῦ | [ἰ]λάρχου καὶ ἱππάρχου, archiprostatountos Sosandrou Aitolou ilarchou kai hipparchou (ll. 3-5).
iv. Officials The group had a ἱερεύς, hiereus (l. 2): his name was Nikolaos.

Note The only two members attested are men.
iii. Age Adults
Note Given the military character of the members (at least one of them was an active military man), it seems likely that they were adults.
iv. Status The leaders of the group was a cavalry man, an Aitolos, ilarches and hipparches.

XIII. EVALUATION

i. Private association Possible
Note Given the presence of a hiereus and an archiprostaton, it is possible that the group behind the setting up of the present inscription was a private association. However, it cannot be excluded that the group was rather a military unit or something of the kind.
