Comments |
When comparing the text to a series of other Chian inscriptions commemorating honors bestowed to various officials by various professional groups (Robert 1929: 32-8), it becomes possible that the honoring group, whose name is lost, was a professional one too. Compare for example the inscription honoring the officials responsible for the matters of the agora (CAP Inv. 1587).
