Other:Δαιταλεύς is the banqueter (LSJ, s.v. δαιταλάομαι). ‘Δαιταλεῖς’ is the title of a comedy of Aristophanes, which is fragmentarily preserved.

Eponymous officials The formulation of the date [Ἐπὶ γραμμα]τέως Ὕμνου τοῦ [---] (l. 1), shows that the grammateus was the eponymous official of the association.

i. Comments The date is based on the lettering and the orthography of the names, see comments by Rizakis (2008: 269).
Since the name of the association daitaleis means ‘banqueters’, it seems likely that certain common banquets of the association took place.

Note The daitaleis appear as an organized group with a grammateus who also served as an eponymous official. It included both, men and women. Their name indicates their habit of common banquets.
