ἀκτή, akte (l. 4). What this means is unclear. It is built "for the association of couch-makers", so it may designate a cult-room, but the etymology is unknown (Wachter cautiously refers to Arabic 'aqada, "zusammentreffen").

Comments |
The meaning of the designation 'the fifth techne' in the nomenclature of the couch-makers is unclear. The fifth of all the technai? Hardly the fifth techne in this particular craft. Wachter 2005: 326 also restores [κλι]νοπη[γῶν], [kli]nope[gon] in another inscription from the sanctuary of Eshmun.

Note |
Professional associations in the 2nd/3rd century AD were often very close to the official civic institutions, but they probably remained essentially private associations.
