Officials |
ἀρχιμύστης, archimystes (l. 4) Archimystes was at the head of a group of initiates; it is uncertain, however, whether this office pertains to a public or private mystery cult. A public cult of Dionysos is attested in Kyme already in the Hellenistic period (I.Kyme 2; 13; 89; SEG 32: 1243).

Note |
The presence of an archimystes alone, though indicative of a group of initiates with an internal organisation, seems insufficient for a secure identification of a private association, especially if we take into account the relatively late date of the inscription (after 213 AD) and the nature of the dedication (joint dedication by a chalkeus and an archimystes).
