i.b. Document(s) typology & language/script Greek. Funerary inscription for two foreigners and their wives The two foreigners were honoured by two different associations respectively (CAPInv. 1999). It should be noted that the reference to the wives of the honorands is justified if this inscription is a tombstone (Cole 1984, 86). It is common to find the formula (in the genitive) timathentos ypo deinos in Rhodian funerary monuments .

ii. Source(s) provenance Aulai (Orhaniye). The base was found rebuilt in the Byzantine church.

iv. Status Alexandros, the honorand, probably member of the association, was a foreigner from Kephallenia (l. 1).

iv. Honours/Other activities The association honoured Alexandros from Kephallenia with a golden crown (l. 4).

i. Comments The two honourees, Alexandros from Kephallenia and Epaphrodeitos from Kos, were probably relatives (Bresson 1991, 87).
