iv. Honours/Other activities The synodos honoured Patron, son of Dorotheos, one of the members of the association (I.Délos 1519, l.
4: hoi ek tes synodou) who served as priest (ll. 57-8: hierateuon) when the decree was passed.

The reasons for the honours (ll. 4-27). Patron, son of Dorotheos, was honoured for having undertaken an embassy to the Athenians, where he had proposed the erection of a sanctuary to Herakles on behalf of the synod. He was honoured by both the association and the people of Athens for having done good by both from his own resources out of love of humanity and love of honour.

The honours awarded to Patron by the association (ll. 35-54). Patron was to be crowned with a golden crown each year at the performance of sacrifices to Poseidon, an image was to be placed in the sanctuary of Herakles (presumably the one in Athens, since the Athenians were a part of the honourands, but this is not expressed clearly), as well as at a separate location of his choice. He would be free from paying his share as well as free from service in regards to the synod. The synod advertised their proclamation and erected the decree to be placed in the sanctuary of Herakles, which would be paid by the treasurer and the head of the society.

The advertisement of the honours awarded to Patron by the association (ll. 45-51).

XII. NOTES
