XII. NOTES

i. Comments The stone has been tentatively attributed to Rhodes by Hallof, the editor of IG XII 4.2 654 as associations of Athanaistai Lindaistai (CAP Inv. 96) and Atabyriastai (CAP Inv. 102) are attested in Rhodes.
Boyxen (2018, 272) attributes the stone to Kos on the basis of the colour of marble.
However, the cult of Zeus Atabyrios has so far been attested exclusively within the Rhodian State.
