Personal:Ἀρ[χ]ινείοι, Ar[ch]ineioi - From the Greek personal name Αρχῖνος, Archinos (LGPN s.v. no. 20). The compound Ἀρχινείοι, Archineioi suggests either a founder or a benefactor of the association, (cf. Thomsen (forthcoming), Gabrielsen 1997 p. 126-7, Maiuri 1916 p. 141, Poland 1909 p. 73-6).
Theophoric:Ἀθαναιισταί, Athanaistai - From the doric spelling of Athena (Morrelli, I culti in Rodi [Pisa, 1959] 2-13, 80-89).
Note The character of the association is greatly reminiscent of other associations described as κοινὸν, koinon, although the descriptive term has been omitted in this case.
