Dimitrova 2008: no. 10. Dimitrova (2008: 39) prefers a second century date though she does not rule out the possibility that the inscription dates to the first century BC, as proposed by the editor of IG XII.8 on the basis of lettering.

viii. Obligations Two technitai, who are otherwise unattested, Diomedes son of Metrodoros and Athenikos son of Satyros, represented the Dionysiac artists of Ionia and the Hellespont as theoroi (sacred delegates) at the Samothracian festival.


ii. Meetings and events The technitai send two sacred delegates (theoroi) at the Samothracian festival, possibly the Dionysia.


ii. Interaction abroad The technitai feature along cities of Asia Minor in the list of theoroi to the Sanctuary of the Great Gods in Samothrace. Their presence might reflect the importance of dramatic performances at the Samothracian festival (Dimitrova 2008: 39).


i. Comments The two theoroi of the technitai may have been granted proxeny status (Aneziri 2003: 157 n. 174).
