iv. Status [---]niton in the inscription may be part of an unidentified ethnic, which implies that the members of the association probably consisted of military settlers and their descendants in the area. See Mitford 1961: 119-20, no. 19; Hermary 2004: 54-5.

X. ACTIVITIES

iv. Honours/Other activities Salamine de Chypre XIII.1 87 demonstrates that the association honoured Menedemos, son of Zoilos, and his son. Menedemos was a citizen of Aspendos and probably a Ptolemaic military settler on Cyprus. Menedemos' father Zoilos may be identified with a Zoilos military settler of the Arsinoite nome in Egypt or with a Zoilos serving at the Ptolemaic garrison of Thera (see Salamine de Chypre XIII.1 87).

XI. INTERACTION

ii. Interaction abroad Through the honours granted (see above X.iv), the association interacted with a Ptolemaic military settler from Asia Minor.

XII. NOTES

i. Comments The restoration [τῶν τεχ]ν̣ιτῶν, [ton tech]niton in the name of the association (suggested in Salamine de Chypre XIII.1 87), should be rejected (see Hermary 2004: 55, n. 56).
