Comments |
It is unusual to find epigraphic evidence for associations in this late period. Sartre 1982: 202 notes that Justinian involved professional associations, and especially the rich ones, into building projects.

Note |
For the seat inscriptions see the entry on askopoioi (CAPInv. 587). It is unclear whether or not there was a continuity in organization of the chrysochooi until AD 539/40.
