Archaeological remains The inscribed block was found in an underground space along with many marble architectural elements (columns, capitals, bases of statues, etc.) of a great building complex, surely part of the Puteolan theater. Presumably the place was either the schola or the sacellum of the collegium, where the tibicines held their meetings (see. Bollmann 1998: 371-3, no. A53; cf. Camodeca 2011: 210, n. 49).

iii. Members Referred to as socii tibicines (Zevi 2008: 45).

VIII. PROPERTY AND POSSESSIONS

ii. Realty The schola or sacellum in Puteolan Theatre was perhaps not property of the tibicines: Steuernagel 1999: 155.

XII. NOTES

i. Comments The supposed schola or sacellum of the tibicines served as collegial meeting place for events like banquets, commemorative celebrations, cultic activities, etc. organized by the association.
