VI. BUILT AND VISUAL SPACE

ii. References to buildings/objects The association received - like a number of other professional groups - two diastyla from M. Publicianus Nikephoros, which they presumably used for selling their goods.

X. ACTIVITIES

iv. Honours/Other activities The association has set up (I.Eph(esos) 728) the statue of Publius Vedius Antoninus, who was honored by boule and demos (not by the association itself; contrast Harland 2014: 280: "Honors by Wine-Tasters for P. Vedius Antoninus"). It is not known if the association really had relations with this famous man, or seized the opportunity to pretend that it did, or was simply ordered by the city to erect the statue.

XII. NOTES

i. Comments On the interpretation as those who sell holy wine cf. Engelmann 1986. The association apparently managed the vineyards of the sanctuary of Artemis, and sold the produce.
