Income |
The association is mentioned as the recipient of a fine of 300 denarii to be paid to it in case another association - namely the symposion theou Souregethou, see CAPInv. 1635 - fails to fulfill the conditions of an endowment.

The term ποσιασταί, posiastai, points to banquets.

Comments |
For the terms συμπόσιον, symposion, ποσιασταί/συμποσιασταί, posiastai/symposiastai, and the title συμποσίαρχος/συμποσιάρχης, symposiarchos/symposiarches, see the comments in CAPInv. 536. Heros with no further specification in the territory of Philippi points to Heros Aulonites according to Pilhofer 2009: 159. The two persons named in the text (husband and wife) were not necessarily members of the association; cf. the relevant comment of GRA I 69. The deceased and his wife were Roman citizens of Thracian origin, as indicated by their cognomina.
