i.c.	Physical format(s)	According to Hiller vom Gaertringen (1908: 174) the inscription was carved on the same statue base that bore IG XII.3 1123 + IG Suppl. p. 93.
ii.	Source(s) provenance	The present whereabouts of the stone are not known. The attribution of the inscription to Melos is based on Dubois' transcript of the text of the inscription which in his transcript appears right after an inscription found on Melos, IG XII.3 1123 + IG XII Suppl. p. 93. It should be noted, however, that this attribution is highly problematic in my view: IG XII.3 1123 is about a private female honorific statue, i.e. the statue of Kleiphossa set up by her parents and her brothers, whereas IG XII Suppl. p. 93 no. 1123 B is a honorific statue set up by a private association for Teisandros, its benefactor and priest. Neither the honorands nor the honouring bodies are related to each other.

Interaction abroad

If hoi peri ton Dionyson technitai stand for one the international branches of the Dionysiac technitai and not for a local association, then they make visible their presence in the island of Melos by honouring their benefactor and priest, Teisandros. However, it is not certain whether we are dealing with a local association or one of the international branches of the technitai.

XII. NOTES

i.	Comments	Aneziri (2003: 419) thinks likely that the technitai in this case might stand for a local association, without however ruling out the possibility that one of the big branches of the Dionysiac technitai erected an honorific statue for their priest, Teisandros, in the honorand's hometown.
