XII. NOTES
i. | Comments |
The editor of IG XII.9 attributes this inscription to the Chalkidian branch of the Dionysiac technitai. According to Aneziri (2003: 419) the inscription IG XII.9 915 possibly refers to technitai and more specifically to the Chalkidian sub-branch of the Isthmian and Nemean koinon for the following reasons: - IG XII.9 910 attests to the presence of the Isthmian koinon in Chalkis - the terms koinon and synodos are attested in both inscriptions (IG XII.9 910; IG XII.9 915) - in line 2 of IG XII.9 915 Aneziri reads the name [Saty]ros, a name often borne by technitai. |
XIII. EVALUATION
i. | Private association | Probable |
Note | The inscription is poorly preserved. The joint occurrence of the terms koinon and synodos (the latter partly preserved) points to a private association. See XII.i for the arguments supporting an identification with the Dionysiac technitai. |
