i.b. | Document(s) typology & language/script | Greek. Funerary inscription for two foreigners and their wives The two foreigners were honoured by two different associations respectively (CAPInv. 1130). It should be noted that the reference to the wives of the honorands is justified if this inscription is a tombstone (Cole 1984, 86). It is common to find the formula (in the genitive) timathentos ypo deinos in Rhodian funerary monuments . |
IX. MEMBERSHIP
iv. | Status | Epaphrodeitos, member of the association, is a foreigner from Kos, married to a woman from Ephesos (ll. 9-10) |

iv. | Honours/Other activities |
The association honoured Epaphrodeitos from Kos with a golden crown (ll. 8-9). |
XII. NOTES
i. | Comments | The two honourees, Alexandros from Kephallenia and Epaphrodeitos from Kos, were probably relatives (Bresson 1991, 87). Nysa, the wife of Alexandros was from Kos, and she was probably the sister of Epaphrodeitos who also originated from Kos. |
