Comments |
Ganos is mentioned by authors of the Hellenistic and Roman times, but its territorial attribution during the Roman period remains uncertain; for the settlement and its references, see Isaac 1986: 211-2. The last line of this funerary inscription, mentioning a πόλις, polis (ll. 7-8) and a ἱερὰ σύνοδος, hiera synodos, as the recipients of a fine in case of tomb violation, was all that could be seen at Lolling's time.
