Interaction abroad |
The same association (cf. Malay) is attested in Phrygia, probably in the sanctuary of Hosios kai Dikaios in Yaylababa köyü, though its name erroneously read by the editors as Φιλανγέλων (Philangelon, "of the angel-lovers"): Sheppard 1980/81: 87-90, no. 8 (SEG 31: 1130); Ricl 1991: 24f., no. 48 (SEG 41: 1210). It is not sure if both associations have some relation.

Comments |
There was probably an earlier association of vine workers from which this one depends or is a renovation. Cf. the adjective νέοι (neoi, "new"). For the same designation in relation to other associations cf. ΤΑΜ V.1 92, ll. 1-3: ἡ σύνοδος τῶν νεῶν ποδαρίων (he synodos ton neon podarion); TAM V.1 451, ll. 1-3: ἡ νεωτέρα φράτρα τοῦ Ἀσκλεπιοῦ (he neotera phratra tou Askleiou); TAM V.1 537, l. 1: ἱερὰ συμβίωσις καὶ νεωτέρα (hiera symbiosis kai neotera).
