The Otacilii are well attested in Pergamon and in Kyzikos since the Augustan period (Hübner & Rohde 2002: 102).

X. ACTIVITIES

iv. Honours/Other activities The association honored (ἐτείμησεν, eteimesen)[Apollonides] Otacilius. An honorific statue should have been set up for him.

XII. NOTES

i. Comments Robert (1962: 407-8) suggested to restore koinon or systema in line 1, as the article to is preserved at the beginning of line 1.
Hübner & Rohde think that systema is less likely as it is often associated with the gerousia (cf. Poland 1909: 158).
Hübner & Rohde (2002) restore [συμβιώτης], [symbiotes] in line 2 in the light of SEG 35: 1264, an honorary inscription for a symbiotes by the Herakleotai.

The participle epimelethentos if followed by a personal name in line 5 would point to the existence of one more official.

XIII. EVALUATION

i. Private association Certain
Note The association has an internal organization as suggested by the existence of a priest appointed for life. Although the full name of the association is only partly preserved, the neutral article points towards a restoration of koinon or systema, something that would further point to a private association.
