XII. NOTES

i. Comments The fourth line of the inscription with the singular genitive of synodos poses a problem of understanding: Poland has shown that a koinon can encompass many sodalitates; he proposed, however, to interpret the association in question as a college of Dionysian technitai (Poland 1934: 2483).
ii. Poland concordance Poland B *55
iii. Bibliography Poland, F. (1934), ‘Technitai’, RE2 5.2: 2473-578.

XIII. EVALUATION

i. Private association Possible
Note If Poland is right, the association in question should be a koinon of Dionysian technitai. Although the term synodos could refer to an association, it is also possible that it refers to a meeting.
