Online Resources TM 55316
i.a. Source type(s) Epigraphic source(s)
i.b. Document(s) typology & language/script This is a demotic dedicatory inscription maybe addressed to a god whose name is lost, by a member of the association, and in the name of all the other members of the association.
i.c. Physical format(s) The inscription is engraved on a bronze bowl (15 cm wide and 15 cm high).
ii. Source(s) provenance The bowl was found in the grave of a male adult in a cemetery near Abu Simbel (Matta 1935). We do not know if the man buried there had a connexion with the association.

VII. ORGANIZATION

ii. Leadership The only member (Pȝ-šr-Wsỉr ) named in the inscription is a mr šn. The mr šn is a title which can be linked to either a temple or an association. In an association, the mr šn is an administrator or the president (De Conical 1972: 154-159). Considering the way the title is mentioned in the inscription, it appears slightly more likely that it refers here to a function within the association, but this remains uncertain.
iii. Members Referred to as nȝ rmṯ.w (n tȝ) ẖny.t (‘the people (of the) association’, l. 1).

IX. MEMBERSHIP

XIII. EVALUATION

i. Private association Certain
Note The use of ẖny.t (l. 1) to describe this group leaves no doubt that it was a private association.
