XII. NOTES

i. Comments It is difficult to posit as to whether this list represents several members of several associations (surely the notion of plural associations here is based on the reading here of l.14 [π]ροστά[τ]α̣[ι]) or a single association as Mees 2002: 400 has it in translation. I have been unable to examine a photograph (MG). Nevertheless, there are several occupations listed here; that in itself may suggest that if this is a single association, then it may not be wholly professional in nature.
iii. Bibliography Mees, A.W. (2002) Organisationsformen römischer Töpfer-Manufakturen am Beispiel von Arezzo und Rheinzabern: unter Berücksichtigung von Papyri, Inschriften und Rechtsquellen (2 vols.). Mainz : 399-400, 229 and n. 475.

XIII. EVALUATION

i. Private association Probable
Note Probable because of the lack not only of a descriptive term but also further evidence suggesting a definitive private association.
