XII. NOTES

i. Comments It is not clear from the phrase Charigno kai synthiasitides whether Charigno was a synthiasitida or a priestess though it seems that she was leading the group. Her name was recorded together with the synthiasitides. Charigno may be identified with Charigno of ΙD 1412a.1 l. 69 and ID 1417 A Col. II, l. 122. In this inventory she appears as the dedicator of a phiale λείαν ὡς ποδιαίαν, the exact same offering she made together with the synthiasitides in ID 1403 II l. 95. However, in ID 1417 the name of the synthiasitides is not recorded; inconsistencies between the inventories are occasionally attested. Charigno also dedicated a frankincense-burner without a lid in IG XI.4 1307 ll. 14-5.

XIII. EVALUATION

i. Private association Possible
Note The name synthiasitides is not conclusive evidence for the precise nature of the group if a group at all.
